JobStart offers services to help newcomers to Canada find employment in their field of expertise and settle into the community. We provide information about community resources such as housing, licensing, settlement services, work placement, and understanding the Canadian workplace culture.

Recently laid off? Unemployed? Need help to find a job in the labour market? JobStart provides adults with a menu of services focused on individual needs. Adults can receive one on one job coaching, employment workshops or select from a menu of job search supports.

Persons with Disabilities

JobStart provides employment support for persons with disabilities. JobStart can assist post secondary students and graduates find a job in their chosen career. Participants learn how to market themselves to employers, secure interviews, or keep a job. Employment accommodation assistance is available for clients.

Each year JobStart helps students find employment! In fact, last year we helped over 700 students successfully find summer employment. Many other services are available for students as well. Check under the “Youth” section.

JobStart provides a variety of services for youth 16 years of age and older.  This includes resume preparation, apprenticeships, summer jobs, job coaching  and job placements.  Assistance is also available for apprenticeship, literacy and numeracy skills, and preparation for writing the General Education Diploma (GED).
