An introduction to the basic use of a computer. Learn how to use the mouse, keyboard, and how to access employment related software. Learn how you can improve your typing skills.

Learn basic word processing skills: how to format, save and retrieve a document, delete a word, sentence or paragraph, and how to spell check your document

Are you interested in working in the apprenticeship trades? Come to this information session to learn the secrets to working in the trades.

Help for job seekers 15-30 years of age. By booking an appointment with an employment counsellor they will assist you in acquiring career development tools needed to help you achieve your career or employment goals. Our counsellors are specialized in assisting clients who are on EI or who have received EI or Maternity Benefits with paid training or placement opportunities. All clients in the program have access to Job Development assistant.

A caseworker is available bi-weekly at JobStart from 1:00-4:00pm to complete scheduled appointments with clients to update case information and to support client's use of services and programs provided by JobStart. The caseworker will alson provide general information and answer questions from the community about TESS program.

A Vpi Employment Specialist will assist you to explore work and training opportunities.

Learn basic functions of the Internet and how to access employment sites such as the Service Canada Website, links to the Job Bank and how to perform a search on the Internet.

Review the basics of Excel. Learn how to customize headers, create tables and save your documentation.

Learn to create a resume that is targeted to specific work of interest, or help you get a job interview. Find out: what goes in a resume, what are transferable skils, the do's and don'ts of resume writing, the different types of resume, and the five essential parts of a resume and how to develop them.

Discusses the role and importance of the interview in the job search process, and presents practical tips, techniques and strategies highlighting the four-part process of effective job interviews and practice role playing the interview.

Learn how to perform specific internet job search including labour market trends, company specific intormation, e-mails-attachments/embedded documents, posting resume, and accessing online applications.
