Information and Resource Services (IRS) for the General Public
The Information and Resource Services (IRS) is free, self-serve, "walk in" centre that provides access to today's most comprehensive employment resources, equipment and services. Knowledgeable and professional staff are available to assist in the use of the resources and equipment.
Internet, computers, photocopier, telephones, fax machines and scanner.
Resources such as newspapers, business directories, videos and job search related reference materials.
A variety of job search workshops, "Speaker Series" and Special Events.

The Information and Resource Services provides workshops on topics of interest to job seekers to help them get back to work. Check our Calendar to find out when these workshops are being offered.
Employment Planning and Preparation (EPP)
The Employment Planning and Preparation Program helps adults 25 years of age and over, out of school and out of work and not receiving Employment Insurance to re enter the workforce by gaining the skills and knowledge to enable them to find, create and keep jobs. The program is individually tailored to meet each person’s employment and training needs.
Employment Coaches assist adults in exploring career options, job search strategies, resumes and interview skills as well as identify appropriate education, training and employment opportunities. Eligible clients have access to work trials and paid on-the-job training placements.
Job Development Placement Services (JDPS)
Job Developers help clients with job placement assistance. We match your career goals and skills with employers. Placement services range from referral to job leads, access to job postings, apprenticeship opportunities, subsidized on the job training and direct employment hires. For eligible clients employment supports are available.
General Education Development/Literacy Basic Skills
These free part-time services support youth and adults who want to enhance their literacy and numeracy skills, or aspire to receive and access academic support to achieve their General Education Development (GED).
Over the past 14 years the Toronto District School Board and JobStart have been in partnership and have collectively offered onsite Literacy Basic Skills (LBS) services for youth and adults. Participants work with staff in a friendly, welcoming environment and receive access to computers, as well as ongoing support and coaching that is geared to enhancing their employability.
