New to Canada?
Job Search Workshop (JSW)
Immigrant professionals have been helped to find work in Canada by our JSW program since 1999.
Groups run for 1 week, Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 41 Chauncey Avenue; 3 blocks south of Bloor, West of Islington.
Newcomer professionals benefits from:
- Up to date labour market and occupational information
- Training in effective job search techniques
- Preparation of professional resumes and cover letters plus a personal action plan
- Access to Employment Resource Centre computers, phones, faxes, and workshops
- Support in their job for up to 3 months after their group ends
To participate you must:
- Be over 24 years of age
- A Landed Immigrant, Convention Refugee or Live-in Caregiver
- Have little or no Canadian work experience
- Be legally able to work in Canada
- Speak good working English (at least Level 5)
