IT Sector Specific Job Search IT Staff

IT Sector Specific Job Search offers job search preparation for internationally trained information and communications technology professionals. This 2 week program assists IT professionals who are newcomers to Canada to find work in their field of choice. The program allows for customization to a 1 week program to meet individual goals.

Our Program focuses on developing effective job search techniques while also building solid business communications.

Job Development support to clients includes IT sector specific opportunity for:

  • Job Placements
  • Unpaid Work Placements
  • Mentoring

Who is Eligible?

A person must be:

  • Over 25 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada
  • A Landed Immigrant (Permanent Resident) or Convention Refugee with limited or no Canadian work experience in your profession
  • A professional with post secondary education and IT work experience
  • Capable of clear communication in English (CLB 7)

Group Sessions will provide:

  • Focus on basic workplace terminology and communication skills relevant to the IT Sector
  • Understanding of Canadian culture, employment standards and expectations of IT employers
  • Skills for job searching unique to IT sector: Communicating, interviewing
  • Mock Interviews
    Well developed career goals and a realistic employment action plan through individual coaching
  • Networking opportunities with other professionals
  • Access to the computer lab and internet
  • Support by experienced Employment Consultants for up to 4 months

Information Session held every Monday & Wednesday at 9:00 am
